Bio
El Primer Instinto is a Caifanes/Jaguares tribute band formed in 2016 by Saul Hernandez on vocals and guitar, Germán Briseño on lead guitar, Raúl Bárcena on drums, and Atín García on bass. Since coming together, they have built a loyal following and toured throughout California, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Texas, Illinois, Indiana, Colorado, Tennessee, and beyond.
Their set centers on the legacy of Caifanes and Jaguares, with live shows that often combine original material with songs from the Caifanes/Jaguares catalog. Tracks including Afuera, La Celula Que Explota, No Dejes Que, Viento, Antes de Que Nos Olviden, and Mátenme Porque Me Muero are part of the performance feel described in their current show presentation.
The band’s connection to that repertoire is reinforced by direct collaborations with original members of Caifanes and Jaguares, including Alejandro Marcovich, César “El Vampiro” López, Federico Fong, and Francisco “Frank” Cortina. Those collaborations have shaped versions of these songs that stay respectful to the source material while bringing a fresh energy to the stage.
For buyers, the pitch is clear: a focused Latin rock tribute rooted in the Caifanes/Jaguares songbook, led by a consistent four-piece lineup and backed by years of touring across multiple U.S. markets. It is an easy act to place for audiences looking for recognizable rock en español material and a set built around songs with strong crowd response.
