Bio
Fast Forward is a Kenny Chesney tribute fronted by Derek "Cowboy Kenny" Villegas, who started his first band in 2000. He spent several years as a lead vocalist and entertainer in honky-tonks and dance halls across South Central Texas and the Texas Hill Country.
Over that time, his band appeared at county fairs, corporate events, concerts, and City of San Antonio events, including the annual two-week Fiesta celebration in downtown San Antonio. His Fiesta appearances included Oyster Bake, Farmers Market, and the Coors Light Stage at Market Square.
Derek has also performed at private events for Oracle, Halliburton, and the IBTTA (International Bridge, Tunnel, and Turnpike Association), along with corporate events for Meritage Homes, Legacy Homes, and The Sayfie Review.
After relocating to Florida, he continued performing across South Florida and the southeastern United States. With years of fans comparing his look and sound to Kenny Chesney, Fast Forward was built as a Kenny Chesney tribute, with Derek performing as “Kenny Chesney” in a concert-style set focused on Kenny’s hits.
