Established in 2004, Half Step is a Long Island group of dedicated Grateful Dead fans and students. The band focuses on the spirit, improvisation, sound, and complexity of Grateful Dead music, with close attention to detail and traditional show formats. Their sets use sequences that could likely have been performed by the Dead themselves. Half Step has won over veteran Deadheads, newcomers, and non-Dead fans while continuing to grow together as musicians and performers.
