“We like coverbands. Nerd Halen nailed it. Great band, vocals, and covers of the Van Halen songs. Very funny, punny, and nerdy. Definitely recommend to see live.”

Bio
NERD HALEN is a Los Angeles Van Halen tribute band led by actor, comedian, and host Hal Sparks, with guitarist Caleb Rapoport. The show combines Van Halen’s music with nerdy comedy, aiming to cover both the band’s sound and the humor that NERD HALEN builds into its set.
Hal Sparks is known from Lab Rats, Talk Soup, Dude Where’s My Car, and Queer As Folk. In NERD HALEN, he fronts the band with quick wit, high energy, and vocals described in the source material as resembling both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar.
Caleb Rapoport is a GIT-schooled guitarist and Van Halen aficionado who created the concept of mixing Van Halen’s high-energy music with intellectual, nerd-forward comedy. He is listed on the artist roster for EVH Gear, Edward Van Halen’s equipment brand, and the source material states he is the only tribute artist of any kind on that roster.
The lineup also includes Victor Broden on bass and musical direction. His background includes work with more than 40 major-label recording artists, including The 27 Show, Dokken, LeAnn Rimes, Little Big Town, and Richard Marx. He also covers the signature Van Halen high harmonies.
On drums, Jeff Page comes from the Los Angeles Van Halen tribute scene and takes on the Alex Van Halen parts.
The overall format is clear: a Van Halen tribute with a built-in comedy angle, delivered by a lineup centered on frontman personality, guitar detail, harmonies, and faithful rhythm-section parts. For buyers, that makes NERD HALEN easy to place when the goal is a Van Halen set with a more comedic stage feel than a straight tribute presentation.

“Nerd Halen is not just a regular cover band, they are a blast. Bonus is they are one of the best VH cover bands out there. They don't shy away from any VH Hits. DLR and Hagar era both get represented here. Caleb lays down the EVH riffs like few can.”
