Johnny Cash tribute
Johnny Cash tribute show with deep bass-baritone vocals and commanding stage presence
Walkin' The Line is Bennie Wheels' Johnny Cash tribute show, centered on the sound, image, and spirit of the Man in Black in his Folsom Prison-era prime. Bennie performs with deep bass-baritone vocals and a stage presence shaped around Cash's well-known style.
For over 16 years, Bennie has taken Walkin' The Line across the country and has also worked in multi-artist Legends-style productions. He currently produces and stars in several combo tribute shows, including The Cash & Cline Show, Cash & Orbison, and The King & Cash Show.
Bennie started his entertainment career as an Elvis Tribute Artist, working for Dallas look-alike agencies and performing corporate events, live concerts, and private functions. His Elvis work also included many contest wins, including being a two-time Images Of The King World Competition finalist.
After the release of Walk The Line and a 2006 tour of Sun Records in Memphis, Bennie shifted his focus to Johnny Cash. He taught himself guitar and developed the Johnny Cash tribute that became Walkin' The Line, built around a vocal range and speaking voice that closely match Cash's recognizable delivery.
“Everything went very well. The music and entertainment was perfect. Not one complaint. Everyone really enjoyed all the Bennie Wheels group. Thank you.”
