Back in Time

While performing in Philadelphia, bandleader Paul Garrett shared the stage with Tower of Power’s Doc Kupka and met members of the band while they toured with Huey Lewis & The News—on Paul’s birthday, a night he never forgot.

Back In Time is a 10-piece band recreating the sound, energy, and excitement of Huey Lewis & The News at their live-performance peak. With a powerhouse five-piece horn section, the band brings back the big, horn-driven sound of the era when Huey Lewis & The News toured with the legendary Tower of Power horns. The repertoire includes The Power of Love, The Heart of Rock & Roll, Hip to Be Square, I Want a New Drug, and Back in Time. Bandleader and musical director Paul Garrett’s personal connection to that era helped inspire the project.
