Best of Foo is a NY/NJ-based Foo Fighters tribute formed in early 2017. Since making their debut in October 2017, they have built a growing audience with a set centered on familiar Foo Fighters songs and crowd singalongs.

Before starting the band, Dennis Kozar, Juan Hernandez, Mike Ferreira, and Chris Kozar played together in an original band called civic. After their singer left and they were unable to find the right replacement, they began jamming on cover songs, with most of their focus landing on the Foo Fighters. Once they had learned a handful of songs, the idea of building a full tribute act took shape.

When it came time to find someone to fill the Dave Grohl role, Phil Barbetta of the band Corevalay stood out as the right fit. His passion and aggressive vocal style matched the sound they were after. After a few rehearsals, the lineup became official under the name Best of Foo.

The band played its debut show in October 2017. From there, show offers increased along with the size of their audience. Their set is built around a clear connection to the Foo Fighters catalog and a crowd response that includes active singalongs to familiar songs. Best of Foo was formed out of a genuine love for this music, and the band’s focus remains straightforward: celebrate the Foo Fighters and keep bringing that material to a growing audience.
