THE CARS were easily one of the most popular bands of the late 70s and 80s. Their first album is among the best debut records of all time, selling 6 million copies and winning the award of BEST NEW ARTIST in a 1978 Rolling Stone Magazine readers poll, spending an impressive 139 weeks on the Billboard 200. During the 1980s The Cars had 4 top 10 hits — Shake It Up, You Might Think, Drive, and Tonight She Comes — and to this day have sold more than 23 million copies. The band took home the trophy for Video of the Year for You Might Think at the first MTV awards in 1984 and were later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.
