DeadBeat is a 6-piece Grateful Dead tribute performing in Greater Boston, Metro West, and Southern New Hampshire since 2005. Their set covers the Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia Band, related bands, and songs covered by those groups, with 3-part harmony, soloing, and a grooving dance feel.

DeadBeat is a 6-piece Grateful Dead tribute based in the Boston area, performing in Greater Boston, Metro West, and Southern New Hampshire since 2005. The band focuses on the music of the Grateful Dead, the Jerry Garcia Band, the Dead’s family of bands, and music covered by those groups.

The lineup includes drums, bass, keyboards, rhythm guitar, lead guitar, and vocalist. Their set leans into a grooving dance feel with a rock edge, built around strong 3-part vocal harmony and instrumental soloists. The current lineup includes drummer Joe Pulitano, Brian Stormwind, Gary Barth, bassist Mike “Bails” Bailey, vocalist Jenna Markard, and keyboardist Jason Cohen.

Each member brings more than three decades of experience, with national and international gigging and recording credentials. DeadBeat first played out in late 2005, then spent early 2006 developing their sound before moving into regular gigging by fall 2006.

Formed out of a shared connection to the Grateful Dead and jam band sound, DeadBeat has continued with a clear live focus since the beginning.
