We are Tube Snake Boogie, a Southern California-based tribute to the music, sound, style, and spirit of ZZ Top.

Our goal isn't simply to play ZZ Top songs—it's to recreate the experience of seeing one of the greatest rock bands of all time. From the unmistakable guitar tones and driving rhythms to the iconic stage moves, look, and attitude, we are dedicated to honoring the legacy of Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill, and Frank Beard with authenticity and respect.

On lead guitar and vocals, Mike Laughbaum recreates Billy Gibbons' signature guitar sound—that thick, harmonically rich, fuzz-driven tone that remains one of the most recognizable sounds in rock music. Through a carefully crafted combination of amplifiers, ultra-light gauge strings, and authentic technique, Mike captures the legendary growl and sustain that ZZ Top fans know and love. On bass and vocals, Joe Godfrey delivers the unmistakable groove and tone of Dusty Hill.
